Rockall is an inward looking place and our peoples tenaciously maintain the various cultures of their particular regions. We have little or no involvement with the rest of the world; consequently, it is not easy for tourists to obtain visas to visit Rockall.

The word "secretive" is too strong, more that we want to be left alone. However, we have become aware of an increasing amount of misinformation regarding Rockall. Some nations have taken our silence and our relative isolation in the world as justification for adverse comments, with the possible goal of exploiting our rich natural resources for themselves. It is needful, therefore, that we set forth the true facts.
